Project 2108
Group Project on reimagining the future
We were told to form a group of 3, and try to discuss about how 2108 year will look like. There were several aspects of topic that we could tackle on, but we managed to chose one, which is language : "How can art translate voices into creative solutions and visualizations, giving us a unique perspective on the future city?"
First step: RESEARCH
First, we were just trying to collect any of our thoughts related to the project brief and also our different views together in to one, after already committed to visualize about language. We were trying to do force connection (which we don't have the documentation on the note taking, since it was more through talk), and then just try to support it with data of how it was formed, how people were communicating with one another, and how do languages even be invented.
After looking for the history of language and its evolution, we then have better understanding on how new language can be invented and have comprehension that there might be some changes even, in the future that language will keeps evolving due to technology.
Doing forced connections, we then try to also see what is on trend, and how the current world is living right now.Inspired by how dance is one of expressive ways for people to translate their thoughts through movement, why not then relate it to language?
We were then settled to use the idea of dancing, become a new language that people will use in the year 2108. Our plan is for us to utilize people's movement, as a way to communicate with one another. And for the book, we were thinking about making a poster.

We asked strangers to take picture of us, and we were just dance. It was a bit awkward actually, because we really need to form a strange movement, acting like we were free, and portrayed any emotions that we have at the moment, in front of someone that we do not even know. But still, it was a fun experience and a way for us to really test also about the possibility of dance becoming one of the languages in the future

This artwork depicts the evolution of communication from verbal language to movement.Right now language have thrived, just like the word “smart”. Our group see the potential that language can be transferred as body movement and dance.

Persona
Storyboard
This was the storyboard of our persona that each of us created. It reflects towards what she usually does on a daily bais, as a way for us to really visualize on how she will live her life in 2108 with movement as her language.
As our persona is a woman who is an introverted but likes to dance, we imagined her as someone who will always then socializing by dancing, communicating her ideas towards her body movement.

For this activity, we were just asked to paste the storyboard without having any of description. By doing this, we can better judged wether our visualization is clear or not. Our classmates helped us to generate it by writing " o " if it is understandable, and " x " if it is confusing.

After having feedback from our previous storyboards, we were then settled on these there pictures :
- Audrey (the persona's name) waking up from her "dark bedroom", stretching to practice her body, getting ready to communicate with people with her movement during the day
- A picture of Audrey trying to socialize with people on the street by greeting them through her body movement and expression of smiling while jogging because she is a person who took care of her health
- Audrey to plant several vegetables on her backyard, as she really loves to cook and live a healthy life
